Here's an article relating to the abortion pill http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20060915/hl_afp/healthbritainmedicineabortion_060915142230

While it states that in Britain abortions are still not decreasing despite it's availability, it has helped with abortion rates in the U.S.

Here's my question. One of the biggest reasons why pro-choice advocates do not want restrictions placed on abortion is because that would not allow exceptions for cases like rape and incest. What I have to wonder is, that if the availability is there to use this pill in those cases and abortions still are not significantly going down, is abortion primarily being used as a method of birth control? If so, doesn't it seem more logical to encourage women who are not ready for children to find ways to prevent the pregnancies from occuring?

What's your thoughts on this?

How can we reduce unwanted pregnancies without abortions?

Outside of medical reasons, abortion is for when you have chosen not to have a child, taken the necessary steps to make that happen (short of abstinence), and yet still ended up pregnant or when did not have a choice in the matter.

The problem I have with abortion arises when people do not take the steps necessary to prevent pregnancy. These steps are simple and generally not cost prohibitive. Many people simply do not take that responsibility, knowing that they can have an abortion should things not turn out as planned or they do not think through their actions prior to taking them.

There is also the problem of a lack of education. Sadly, some people honestly do not know that you can get pregnant any time, any place, as long as you have properly functioning reproductive organs. Certain groups also do not have adequate access to the various forms of birth control.

To minimize unwanted pregnancies, we must educate the people and provide easy access to birth control. Prevention costs less (emotionally and financially) than treating a symptom (in this case, pregnancy).

We need to educate these young girls and boys! The trouble is, here in the UK we have had TV programs about the subject and so so many girls say they want kids to get the benefits and be a mother. They think it's an easy life but even with the benefits it's still going to be hard! We should stop handing out money to anybody who had children young. I think that if you have a child under the age of 18, you should not get anything from the government until you reach 18. If there are family living, they should be responsible. This would deter a lot of it I think.

they are almost the comparable, the abortion pill flushes an already implanted, fertilized ovum out of the womb, subsequently springing up a mini abortion/miscarriage. The morning after pill if taken wisely and in time (that area may be "iffy" at maximum suitable) prevents implantation of an already fertilized ovum contained in the 1st few hours of theory. in basic terms problem with the "morning after pill" is that as quickly because it extremely is taken the fertilized ovum won't have made it to the uterus as a fashion to implant so all which would be flushed out of the womb stands out as the tissue accumlated and after the lady has a era the ovum can nevertheless implant. subsequently whilst they have been via prescription in basic terms a doctor would propose his affected person to return in 6 to eight weeks for a being pregnant try. women human beings are not to any extent further reported that with it OTC and are finding themselves pregnant after taking the morning after pill by using fact it did no longer artwork. shop in mind that on a similar time as the abortion pill does it relatively is meant job ninety 9% of the time the morning after pill is barely eighty 5% effect IF taken wisely. there's a reasonably great distinction between ninety 9% useful and eighty 5% useful. And hayde expensive you're incorrect...the morning after pill does no longer avert ovulation. popular delivery administration prevents ovulation (or "postpones it") via regulating menses subsequently scuffling with (in ninety 9% of the situations) fertilization of an ovum.

The simple answer...a common sense approach to sex! An objection to pro-life is it does not address the birth of the unwanted. What are we to do with all the unwanted children once they are born?

Well, I don't know. I didn't want the child I am carrying right now.I am not having an baortion though. I think that they should make birth control pills an over the counter drug. That way, it would be easier to get them.

there are millions of ways. unfortunitly most women who take the plan b pill go to planned parrenthood and get it and pph doesnt care about the women thats go there beyond there waistline. if more women would go to a doctor they would have alot better options and would not have to wait until they got preg, before deciding to do something about it. condoms and not doing it are still free.
