Pruning Advice:
Tangled, woody, overgrown climbing honeysuckles can be ruthlessly cut back in the autumn and winter, as long as they are healthy and vigorous. Use loppers to reduce the plant to 60cm (24in) in height. In spring vigorous new shoots should be trained so the whole of their support structure is clad from base to top. Continually pinching out the growing tips stimulates bushy growth. Flowers are unlikely to develop until growth slows, but within a couple of years, perhaps sooner, flowering should be back to normal. Applying a general fertilizer and a mulch of rotted organic matter will help promote healthy regrowth.

If you did not prune your honeysuckle last year that may be why you did not get flowers on it,cut it back abit in october and then again in march when there are no frost,do not cut it down to the ground or it will take a year or two to grow again.Start to fed it about may time and I am sure it will do better

Honeysuckle should be trimmed in the late winter or early spring before the new growth starts. This will allow the blooms to form.

They do tend to get a bit tangly which may cause them to bloom less. I would say tidy it up before winter but not too severely - allowing for some winter kill, then really look at it in the spring and take out any old dead wood, any winter kill amnd straggly bits to allow for good air circulation. Then as an extra treat give it some all purpose fertilizer.

As a thumb I prune after flowering but you did not say if yours was evergreen or not. You can also tidy as and when to keep in shape

Any woodycreepeer can withstand wildcut. It may be done a couple of months before blooming season, followed by good manuring and a good nourishment

Now. Not too severely, then in a couple of months time check for unwanted shoots and nip them off.
