Birth control should be monitored by a female.. if she does not want to get pregnant. Condoms should be used as a back up measure.. because they can always break.. Neither one prevents STD's.. I would say it is first and foremost the females responsibility.

The best practice would be that it should be the responsibilty of both males and females. However, the reality is that if a female does not take active precuations she will bear the brunt of an unplanned pregnancy. At best the woman will have to carry a child for nine months and then probably take off from work for a few weeks. That is the best case scenario. It could end up that the guy splits and then she will have to raise a child on her own or deal with the mental anguish of adoption or even abortion. Until our society decides that it should pass legislation that would require all children be tested for paternity so that the father can be determined with 100% certiantity and that the father of that child would be legally obligated to provide and care for that child the responsibilty will in the end lay at the foot of women. By the way i am a guy.

Who ever doesn't want a baby should have that responsiblity. Usually its both the male and female. Unfortunatly the only BC out there for men is condoms. But they can help remind forgetful girlfriends or spouses to take it so then they are assuming some of the responsiblity.

Females shouldn't have the sole responsibility, but they ultimately do. It's not fair, but it is their body that has to carry and bear the child. The simple fact that men are a lot of times irresponsible idiots also plays a part in this. It should be both parties responsibility, but in reality, the woman has to be sure it's done because it's her body being invaded!

If an adult, consensual, monogamous relationship, it is up to both parties. If one wants a child and the other doesn't then it should be the responsiblity of the person who does not want a child to take the necessary precautions. In any other relationship, I see it as the responsibility of both parties. If you're old enough to have sex, you're old enough to protect yourself from pregnancy and STDs.

Both. If a man doesn't want children, he needs to be responsible and use a rubber. You never know what malicious tricks women will try when their hormones are screaming "HAVE A BABY, HAVE A BABY, NOW NOW NOW"
Conception or lack thereof falls on both parties. A man has equal say in conception. It's a sad and unfortunate fact of life that most women aren't able to think beyond their hormones, and will do whatever it takes to have a baby.

The issue is not a male/female issue. It is a personal issue. Each person should be responsible for themself and their actions. Instead of relying on another person which is faulty birth control. I believe that it is the responsibilty of both individuals to prevent an unwanted pregnancy.

Women are the only ones responsible for birth control. I know it is unfair and blah blah blah, but that is the way it is. If I get you pregnant my only responsibility, if you can find me, is financial. I do not have to spend time with the kid I do not have to take the kid to the zoo. So women, stop fooling yourselves into believing we are equal. If you get pregnant you are the only one who is stuck. Be very careful whom you sleep with. By the way I have children and I am actively involved in their lives. So if you want a responsible guy with money to sleep with, I’m your man.
In addition, it is not fair for men either. We have no say on if you get an abortion or not.

Both parties are responsible for birth control. It takes both people to conceive a child, spread disease and anything else, not solely one persons responsibility

Because it takes 2 to tango, takes 2 to make a baby, therefore it should take 2 to prevent it.
Even though the girl will be carrying the baby, the guy should ensure that the proper protection is being used.
