You good people who disapprove of homeopathy, I already am familiar with your objections; thanks. I have had some women with serious nausea problems and upper respiratory infections. Are there safe homeopathic remedies you can formulate for such patients. Thanks so much for your expert opinions.

If you don't get any answers here, you can check the web site below to find a homeopath to visit in person or call on the phone. I, personally, have not heard of any possible complications of using homeopathy during pregnancy (doesn't mean much, but it's the best I can do).

Edit: If you choose aromatherapy, please research oils, first. Some sources indicate that peppermint should not be used during pregnancy.

It makes no difference where a powerful chemical comes from --- plant or a pill. Indeed major breakthroughs in medicine have always come from natural sources.---- asprin from a tree bark, digitalis from foxglove, and new even some cancer trials from sea snake venom. The poision in oleander leaves and flowers are still poisonous---seven leaves will kill a cow. So just because it is herbal, doesn't mean it is automatically safe, and just because it comes in a pill doesn't mean it is automatically unsafe.

Anytime a pregnant woman injests any medication, be it homeopathic, herbal, formulated compound, alcohol, or even any food, the fetus is being influenced in some way --- positively, negatively, or neutral.

That said, if you are against the discoveries of modern medicine, at least consult all of the information available from them and anyone else, including the internet, druggists, etc. What is amazing is not that there are people who turn to herb and compounds from nature today---- the amazing part is why in such a short time --- only approximately 120 years, have so many people relied on modern medicine at all, and get angry when there is an adverse reaction. Adverse and some truly serious reactions have always occurred with the use of natural plant material...one plant may have more of the desired compound than another, and therefore the outcome will differ -- sometimes considerably. Hope this helps....

I am not objecting to homeopathic remedies, I am stating that if you are pregnant, you should use caution. This is because some formulations can affect the unborn fetus in much the same ways as a prescription medication can affect the fetus.

I would suggest going to a homeopathic practitioner that is familiar enough with side effects and usefullness to best answer your questions.

Good luck!

Hi!
Of course they are ok, if they are well chosen, the unborn child will also benefit from the well chosen remedy you give the mother to be.
You should refer the person(s) in question to a good homeopath and they will get them the right remedy for their problem.
As Homeopathy is no recipe or miracle, careful questionning of the patient is necessary before giving a prescription.
But yes again Homeopathy is quite safe and very beneficial to pregnant women, nursing women and infants as well.
