a gift for a 6 year old boy...?

My daughter was invited to a birthday party for a little boy in her first grade class. Any ideas as to what to get him?

cool toys that he received for his b-day:

1. lego builder sets (cars, cities, creatures, star wars - age appropriate of course - they feel very accomplished when they can do this themselves)
2. superhero dress up - my son was too geeked to get the superman gloves that make sounds and the bar of steel that he can bend - this combined w/a superhero cape is fun
3. kid board games - like monopoly or sorry
4. any car type toy - someone gave him a really cool car that would go different speeds depending on what type of concoction you loaded it with (basically as a conductor of energy) - and we have a lot of fun creating different "formulas" to see which one makes the car faster

Probably some little boy Anime manga thing, cards perhaps. Try to find out what he likes. If he has an XBOX maybe a video game, depends on your budget.

The best thing to do is to ask the boy's mom when you call to RSVP. Every boy is different. My son hated when he got cars (unless they were remote control).
Call the mom. Or tell your daughter to ask the boy.

any thing dinosaurs, superheroes, or something transformers like exept a little kid version, squirt guns, or those velcro balls that you throw at a board (kind of like darts but not as dangerous)

give him a gift certificate to toys r' us or the like... that way he can pick out what he wants, and it's less hassle for you. a win-win situation on all fronts.
