I'll get one for my daughter. Nintendo always has superb first party games on their system so there will definitely be some must-play games. But I read that it will not support HD. Is this true? If so that's a big drawback for me. Nintendo's press release states that they are making this system not for hardcore gamers but for everybody to pick up and play. When it comes to video game systems, that could be a bad strategy (since the most sought after demographic range is the one that buys serious games... not games where your grandparents can play digital badminton with a strange controller).
Having said all that, I love the prospect of playing Mario Kart and Zelda and Metroid and not to mention the older-gen downloadable games. That and the low cost makes it a good secondary system. I'll still get one.

Certainly will, I'll be getting a PS3 eventually too - I already have an Xbox360.
The Wii looks excellent, although I was hoping for a price tag nearer £150, as it stands it'll only be £20 cheaper than an Xbox360 Core package, however it does look a lot better value than the Core package 360.

I'm selling my gamecube since the wii can play gamecube games.

Yep, I'm a Sony and Nintendo kind of guy. I always hated the PS2, but I broke down and bought one, and then my Xbox died, and I gave up on Microsoft.
I love that story.
