The number of friends someone has can depend on so many factors. Some people just naturally have more outgoing personalities than others, which tends to attract more people to them. Some people have more 'loner' types of personalities, which will tend to draw less people to them. Some people feel the need to always have 'something going on' around them, which I think makes them seek people out more. Some people feel totally comfortable just being their own company alot of the time.

Some people may want a broader circle of friends, but their shyness keeps them from it. There are just so many factors that can explain why some people can have alot of friends, while some only have a few.

I agree with another poster though, true friends aren't easy to find. Most people we know really are just acquaintances. A true friend will be there for us not just when things are going well in our lives, but also during the times when life is very, very difficult. I'd take a few true friends over a boatload of acquaintances in a heartbeat.

Personality is key. Its all about how others percieve you. Friendly, caring, helpful, considerate, curteous people are always the ones people like being around. We dont like to be judged by our friends, we just want to be ourselves and be comfortable. If a friend shows theses traits, they will have many friends and go far in life. Friends are extremely important. If you dont have these traits, then your just another person, and people will very rarely go out of their way to be around you. That doesnt mean that selfish, judgemental people dont have friends, its just means that you will notice people come out of their shell and open up more once they feel that they can be theirselves around you.

Some people have to have a ton of friends and others don't need many. I know alot of people, but as far as "friends" I have a few really close ones.

No one really has loads of friends. Some people have loads of acquaintances, but a friend is very rare and, once you have one or two, you're all set!

It's all about personality. If your a people person like me, then you will have alot of friends and the number will keep on growing no matter what. But some people just hate on others too much and like to report people on this stupid program, so they don't attract people as friends, and therefor are big loser's in life.

Personal Character, Personality, Social skills, etc. The list can go on forever. Some people just like being alone and some like being around others.

I used to have a billion, but most were either mean or druggies or just not like me. Now I have a select few - like 2 close ones (after moving) and they are like best friends. I have other friends through them but none that I care to hang out with one on one... I think it just depends how picky you are, and how open you are with those friends.

Some don't have any social skills...or personalities. Some rather be the recluse...some are out going and enjoy life......some have their peers to blame....such as being bullied from a young age.
Some are lonely and would love to have friends...some would rather plod through life without any.
