Mark Lemke, 2nd Basemen for the Atlanta Braves back in the early 90s.
He wasn't the greatest player in the world but he was definitely a top defensive 2nd Baseman and I modelled my playing after him. Highly defensive, contact hitter, only thing I could do better in my young career was steal bases.

Although my heart is with Josh Beckett, my favorite all time player would be Michael Jordan! He owned that basketball court everytime he played! Not only did he "wow" the crowds, he's such a well spoken man!

I would have to Jordan or Gretzsky although I don't remember them playing. I have never been a big hockey or basketball fan so I never watched much of either sport. I did read a book about Gretzsky and it was fascinating.
