I need advice...I went to the doctor a few months ago b/c I wasn't feeling well. Come to find out I have a slow heart ( low blood pressure). There was a few things that I needed to change, which I did...however, its gotten worse. I can barely function during the day b/c I am so dizzy, nauseated and exhausted. Has anyone else ever gone through this and if so what did you do? Thanks.

If you heart rate is causing these symptoms you should be refered to a cardiologist... insist on it. You may need a pacemaker.

PS Slow heart rate is Bradycardia and it can lead to low blood pressure (hypotension) since ...
Cardiac output= Stroke Volume (the volume of blood pushed out of the left ventricle in one contraction) x Heart Rate

Although you are young, this can work against you. Your doctor may be overlooking a congental defect that hasn't surfaced until now because of your age. I have seen people your age and younger with pacemakers.

Your heart beat sounds quite normal, I have Atrial Fibrillation and some ten years I was admitted to hospital as my heart beat wast 220 beats per minute. Th strange thing was I could not tell, it was only the fact that I had a bruise on my side that started to increase in size. To cut a long story short to slow my heart down my heart was stopped under anaesthetic in the operating theatre and restarted six times to slow it down I take drugs to this day for blood pressure and to control the erratic rhythm of my heart and also to stop it racing. The best thing you can do if you are concerned if see your GP asap

hard to tell you without knowing your age, medical history etc. You need to return to your doctor and describe these symptoms to him/her. Meantime ensure you are getting enough fluids (6- 8 glasses of water a day,) dehydration can cause these symptoms, and can be a contributor to low blood pressure.
