I know some people just watch the World Cup , I believe if you're a true soccer fan you follow soccer all year round.
What are your thoughts?

i follow soccer everyday, 24 hours a day - 7 days a week - 365 days all year round. ever since i first started watching the World Cup in 1990, i was hooked on already.
of course, i do not miss the FIFA World Cup & UEFA European Championship as it only happens every 4 years, but then again there are English Premier League, Italian Serie A, Spanish Primera Liga, UEFA Champions' League, UEFA Cup season every year.

Well, I try to follow soccer everyday(though it is very difficult to do so, as im studying in the ninth grade, lots of homework etc.). I am more or less successful at it and I do read all the football columns in the internet etc. I also like Yahoo Football. BUT I GUESS WORLD CUP IS THE ULTIMATE FOOTBALLING EVENT and there is nothing wrong in following just that. U can still remain a loyal football fan.

A true fan will follow soccer all year round. I watch matches in all tournaments, but find that I am less inclined to watch matches involving teams or players that i have never heard of unless they're something special.
For example South american football is highly stimulating, but I prefer the international tournaments as well as european leagues.

I watch every game my team plays, there is no way a person can watch every single game. I follow the serie A, the premiership and the Champions League. And any other major cup. I follow them all, but don't watch every single game, just the highlights, and two or three of the games I watch as a whole.

Agree. I didn't watch just the WC and that's it, now I'm watching Serie A (the league of the World Champions), Premier League & sometimes Primera Division (Spanish league). Of course I'm watching the major football competition for clubs, the Champions League as well and I say finally the football season started, coz I was geting bored after the WC, now I can enjoy football again.

Yes, I even don't use net for anything else then Football news and similar !! I like ''club football'' more then international football, because players in clubs train every day together and have over 40 games per season, so they are playing better for their clubs!!! I have a lot of friends that I can play, talk and watch football with every day!!!!! But true football fan respects all teams and players, not just his/her !!!

Leap year fan = follow only World Cup

I myself follow it every day!But not match by match or every country clubs!But most of them are seen by me evey week!Cuz I really enjoy it!But first of all is the national team that matters for me then clubs!I follow most of them too!
And one thing more is that a fan is a fan even if he/she doesnt look every day matches!As a truth I was just 7 years old when I felt I really love football,but that time I didnt follow it -just for the national team!But even that time I had so respect to the team & football!

how can you say you follow soccer (football) if you watch it once every 4 years? its ridiculous... its like an anorexic (no insult to them) saying that they love to eat and yet just eating once a fortnight or something!!!
People who just follow the WC are more or less just supporting their countries. Fans of the beautiful game will probably be always up to date... addicts will be checking the net every few hours for updates on the clubs they support!!! Arsenal FOREVER!!!!! :P
