Itinerary includes - NY, Niagra, Philidelphia, Baltimore, Washington, San Fran, Yosmite, Vegas, Palm Springs, LA (and a couple of others I've forgotten).
No meals included in the trip so need to take that into account!

I think your best bet would to bring some cash but it's easier and probably safer to just use a debit or credit card. Most of the tourist locations you mention will take the cards, and you can always get more cash from an ATM or bank. Maybe plan on $15 for each meal, some will be more, some will be less. And it all depends on how many souvenires you will want to take back home with you on how much spending money you will need. You are really doing a major trip from both sides of the country, so I'm guessing you will be sitting in a bus a lot.

It kinda depends on how many meals are included in the tour. $50 per day should be adequate if the trip includes meals. I'm interested on the itinerary between Wash. and SF, that's a helluva long bus ride(2600+miles). Bring some cash but mainly rely on ATM and credit cards.

$500.00 should suffice, but not all in cash, either debit or credit card. You can always balance your books when you return home.
Try and stay out of the casinos in vegas.

as little as $1000 - as much as ????.... depends on how much you want to spend eating/shopping - the $1000 will get you decent food/small souvenirs - no vegas losses included.

enjoy your trip
