For God's SAKE!! Can I not ask a serious question without people insulting me???? I was seriously asking if they get discounts, because I think that they bloody well should.

Do you think it would be a good idea to set up a web site so left legged people and right legged people could meet up and buy shoes together?

My husband tells me he saw this story where these two guys lost each a leg in a war- they happened to lose th opposite leg so they went shoe shopping together, would buy a pair and split the difference. Seems like a winning plan to me, but you would have to find someone that had the opposite leg missing AND wore the same shoe size. I guess the other option would be to buy a pair of shoes and sell the other on eBay to someone that fit that criteria. I have never heard of shoe store that would sell the shoes seperately. I have even had a case where when my daughter was young, one of her feet was almost a whole size bigger than the other (thankfully she grew out of that problem) the shoe stores wuld not let me buy one pair containing the two different sizes. It seems there would be enough people in the world, though, that there could be some kind of trade off or whatever so that a person with one leg would get a fair deal in the end regarding shoes.

No according to when I knew Terry Fox.. the one legged get charged extra! Also same thing
happens at Bata Shoe store where I once worked. Same at Agnew Surpass when I worked there! I had to go according to Stores Policies.. if I didn't I'd have lost my job and that's exactly what happened! Other Shoe stores like Kmart I don't know their policy on it
even though I worked there too!

I would hope you mean this is a nicest way and that you aren't making fun of them. I don't think they do unless they have something worked out with the store. For instance they have only a left leg and someone has only a right leg and the store worked it out so they can buy only the one shoe or something.

Hi JC, By God your sure taking a beating today! I don't really have an answer I just wanted to let you know you didn't hurt my feelings, I am an American with a great sense of humor, I grew up watching British Comedy. My Father and I (God rest) watched them together all the time, from Are you being served? (Are you free?) To keeping up Appearances (That's Bouquet!) To Waiting for God (I can't find that one anymore) We enjoyed them all. I owe you Brits a big thank you for all the fond memories I have of my dad,I can still here his big booming laugh as we watched together. Thanks! wrwoodall@yahoo.com (Basscatcher)

Assuming they use a prosthetic then they would still need to buy both a left and right shoe.

If they aren't using a fake limb but are confined to a wheelchair then I doubt they would have to wear a shoe at all.

No, I don't think so, if they are lucky enough that can find a partner that also is an emputee that will share shoes with them.

I did a search, for such a share site.

I have heard about this service in an article before.

lol, no im afraid not, the good thing is a pair of sox will last them twice as long! i used to know a guy who lost a leg in a accident, he wasn't impressed when he had to pay full price for a pair of shoes he did ask for 2 right feet (as he lost his left leg) but they refused.

Afraid not!

People with one leg have a false leg - otherwise they would find standing up.

Just because you are legless, you still need two shoes!

ps if legless people got discounts on shoes and socks, people would drink more!!!
