it's because the serious questions usually need long serious answers and some ppl are just not in the mood :s
so they answer stupid questions cuz they usually require short answers, they get 2 points easily, and who knows? maybe they get 10 if chosen for a best answer ;)

LOL, I think that most people don't feel like taking the time to give a normal answer so the answer the stupid ones. :)

That's because the stupid ones are more fun to answer and the mis-spelled ones hurt my eyes to try and read.

i haven't really noticed. maybe you should check out other categories than the polls and surveys. a lot of questions really get good answers but you can easily tell apart thoese really stupid answers.
