and how does it compare to other games consoles?

Depends on what you enjoy playing...
I like the PC because i enjoy playing The Sims...
My eldest likes the PS2 because he enjoys Final Fantasy...
My middle likes the X-box cuz he plays Morrowind, Halo, and Halo 2..
My youngest likes Nintendo cuz he's into Zelda and Pokemon...
My wife doesn't like any of them....

right now its the xbox 360, but the ps3 will probably be the best one, when it comes out. The ps3 wont use dvd ROMS anymore, it will use blue ray technology. If you dont wanna wait, then 360 is the best.

360 for info go on game sites and Wikipedia. on Nov 19 and so forth Wii will beat PS3 and make history as one step below virtual reality.
