It was one of the best days of my life and yes, absolutely, 100% do it again. The reasons?

Firstly, I believe men should support your partner/wife/mother of your child during the birthing process if they so wish. You were half the reason the event was happening, and therefore you have an obligation to be there. Childbirth is one of the most physically and mentally exhausting experiences a woman has to go through, men should be there if they are wanted to offer a hand to squeeze, a few words of encouragement or be on hand to ask questions of the medical staff.

More importantly though, being at present when your child takes it first breath is a moment that every father should want to experience. You don't need to look "down there" as it were if that worries you, simply enjoy the moment as a little human life starts its journey.

Difficult to put into words the emotions you feel but the day of the birth of my daughter, all the ups and downs, was simply the best day of my life. I would not have missed the birth for all the tea in China!

LMAO.

I went to visit my sister in the hospital. She was in labor at the time. A few minutes later the doctor came in and said OK. Start pushing. I was thinking HOLD THE **** UP. I need to leave. But the doctor did not worry about anyone in the room. The next thing I knew. Here comes my nephew into this world.

I do believe tears came out of my eyes. I thought it was very incredible and wonderful to experience that.

Then a couple years later. My cousin was having her baby. I don't know if it was planned or not. But some how I ended up in the room. I thought it was interesting to experience it again.

I wanted to be share the experience the first time in 1992. When my niece was born. But I was too young to be in there. Then when my other niece was born. The hospital said only certain people could be in the room.

My advise to ANYONE. If you have to chance to experience it. GO FIGURE. Child born it a heck of an experience.

Obviously I'm not a man - lol - but thought I'd answer because strangely enough I had a conversation about this with a male colleague and he said 'It was the worst and the best day of my life.' He said it broke his heart to see his wife go through that, but when I asked him if he would do it again he said it would never even occur to him NOT to be there for his next child's birth.

I was present for two birth's and actually derived the last child.
I felt a whole melting pot of emotions and thought it really brought my wife and I closer. Yes I would do it again...
Let me add my wife did not get violent toward me either like some wives do so I've heard..I also had the help of a mid wife for the delivery of our last child..

It was really one of the most awesome things! I was a little ill at ease with all the .... well blood and tearing and such ... but I watched my daughter come into the world! Love and pride is the best I can do to describe it. Yes I would do it again!

Yes, I was there to welcome my daughter into the world. And I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! Childbirth is SUCH an amazing thing, and the women who deliver these precious gems into our lives are equally amazing!

Of course there were a few minutes during the delivery where I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Then again - I'm not a doctor, and it was my one and only.

I grew up on a farm, so have seen quite a bit of that. Yes I know it's different, but it's still sort of the same, you know? It didn't turn me off. It's just a natural part of life, and how things work.

I was preasent at the birth of my first child and if I remember correctly my wife referred to me as a pencil-necked, scum-sucking, no-good, rotten bastard during the procedure.

When my 2nd child was born I stayed away.

The most incredible and emotional experience of my life! Wouldn't have missed it for the world, not having any more kids though, this one is too hard work!
