The cloaca (found in amphibians, reptiles, and birds) excretes both urine and feces (it is the only opening) unlike the anus which only secretes feces. The cloaca is also used for mating and laying eggs.

Anus is the posterior opening of the digestive system of mammals..It brings out only the digestive wastes....
while cloaca is a chamber which receives the excretory, reproductive and digestive wastes of animals...it is not present in mammals and is seen only in reptiles, amphibians, birds etc..It opens to the outside thru the cloacal aperture..

Anus is where the feces comes out. Some animals have a cloaca where both the waist and urine comes out together!!!

the cloaca is used both for excretion AND reproduction, the anus just for excretion. Cloacas are found in repitles, amphibians, fish, and birds.

Anus = where it all actually comes out.

Cloaca is the common passage for urine and undigested.
Anus is the passsage for undigested waste only.
