Is it possible using similar techniques to bonsai techniques like clipping off all growing mouths early on and stuff to create a venus flytrap with one massive mouth on it that can catch and eat bigger prey?

no..its not possible.
a VFT trap is designed to be big enough to eat small bugs..no bigger. chopping off all other traps wont make the one remaining trap any bigger..

yes, this technique will work with things like pumpkins..
if you remove every small pumpkin on a vine, leaving only one, all the energy will go into that one pumpkin and make it bigger than it might have been otherwise...but...the key point is...that one pumpkin will still only get *as big as its possible for a pumpkin to get*! ;)

so its the same with a VFT trap...one trap can only get as big as its possible for a VFT trap to get...and the limit is about 1.5 inches across...which is bigger than most traps!

The way to get the biggest VFT traps as possible is to grow the healthiest plant you can..give it perfect conditions, lots of sun, pure water, and let it catch its own food..and that also requires ALL the traps on the plant eating bugs..so cutting off all the traps except one will actually result in a *weaker* plant with smaller traps..not bigger traps.

That almost sounds like genetic engineering and would tend to freak out many readers of Yahoo Answers. You might be better off starting with a larger plant like Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors.

They are very finicky and you have to give them everything that they need (typically in a terrarium) for the things to florish. You could pinch back every bud that comes up except the first to try it and see. Some varieties are bigger than others...heres a list with pictures...
