I work for an employment agency and did not recieve 1 day pay because of the Labour day holiday. I was told that I do not get it because the company I work for does not pay out for Stat days.

That is often a company policy for temporary or contract agencies, and is usually an agreement between your employer and the company they've contracted your services to. The only way you get paid for holidays is if you work on those days, and then you get the standard 1.5X hourly rate. One of the many, many ways it sucks being a temp, unfortunately. You may want to check the little handbook they should have given you when you started working with them explaining benefits; many employment agencies start offering limited benefits like paid holidays and health insurance if you work with them for a certain period of time (the couple of agencies I've worked through began offering them after two years of employment, but they weren't exactly comprehensive)

You're not a fulltime employee so you're exempt from holiday pay. Sorry.
