I know that all planets rotate/revolve with different speed. So which is the fastest?

Jupiter. It has a very short day of just under 10 Earth hours in conjunction with having the largest Equatorial circumference of all the 8 planets. A bit like a Sumo wrestler winning the 100 yards sprint.

Rotation period 0.413 days (9 hours 55 min 29 secs)
Rotation velocity 12.6 km/s = 45,300 km/h
(at the equator)

SATURN has a similarly short day but isn't as big in girth and therefore not quite as nippy:

Rotation period 0.449 days (10 h 47 min 6 secs)
Rotation velocity 9.87 km/s = 35,500 km/h

MERCURY is positively pedestrian in comparison: it takes over 120 times as long for its much tinier waist to spin round once.

Rotation period 58.64 days (58 days 15.5 hours)
Rotation velocity 10.892 km/h (at the equator)

i.e. Jupiter's rotation goes at 12 kilometres in a second, Mercury's rotation goes at 11 kilometres in an hour!

That is about 4,000: 1 in comparison! This might seem a surprising result.

Jupiter rotates the fastest. Mercury revolves the fastest.

First up, you have asked two questions. To rotate is to spin on an axis. To revolve is to orbit around something (in this case, the sun).

Jupiter rotates the fastest on its axis. Mercury has the fastest velocity as it revolves around the sun.

Mercury, by a large margin, whose mean orbital velocity is 47.9 km/s.

Data for all the planets (including the recently demoted Pluto) is at the following link:

p.s. - oops ... I obviously misread the question (my brain managed to insert an "around the sun"), but the link is still an *excellent* one.

Jupiter spins faster than any other planet. The clouds in its atmosphere are whipped up into vast , swirling storms with winds of up to 500 km/h .
