I've tried a plastic bag, and water still gets in there.

Try wrapping the plastic bag with the stretch wrap you would use for packing purposes (careful not to make it so tight as to cut off circulation - and even so, take it off as soon as you are done bathing). Also this method will make your cast water resistent, not water proof...in other words you still need to take messures to keep the cast out of the water, like prop it on a plastic stool that sits in the tub, out of the water.

All of the above. A little routine will help you, cause I'm telling you, rotting wet casts are gross, you really need to care for this thing, ok? If you are well proprtioned to hang your leg out of the tub, that's good, and I still recommend wrapping it up. (this is a great opportunity to relax in the tub, btw.) if you do it in the night before you go to bed, you can sponge bath in the morning and not worry about the time. Take care coming out of the tub, we don't need you to break the other one, or that one again. Good luck! :D

When I had a fiberglass one they said I COULD get it wet. Anyway, you'll have to leave the leg outside of a shower that has a curtain

Take a shower instead, and secure the ends of the bag with tape or elastic bands.

Sit on a chair if you must.

When I worked in home care and one of my ladies had a wrist op, she used a specialised bag with a tight rubber seal. It went up to her elbow.
She called it her elephant's condom.

If you are attractive, walk in to a place full of single guys and scream at the top of your lungs, " I NEED A SPONGE BATH!"
