The only way the Flames win anything this year is if Jarome Iginla and the first line are able to play all 60 minutes of every game. The rest of that team sounds like an AHL roster, with the exception of Tony Amonte, whose best years are well behind him.
The Flames will struggle to be the best team in the province of Alberta. Hopefully, they can at least pull that off, so I don't have to see so many annoying Oilers flags on people's cars and houses around here. But, I guess that when the CFL is your only other sports option, you take what you can get.

How can you be that sure Flames will win ANYTHING can happen in an nhl season Tanguay get injured Iginla get injured and Flames wont make the playoffs. But yes they got a good chance if they could stay healthy!!

Now wouldn't it be dumb to start celebrating something that hasn't even started... I guess you folks up there in Calgary got nothing else to do. Plus, don't you get overjoyed more when the Flames beat the Oilers rather than when they actually ACHIEVE something?

As much as i would love to see that, being a local calgarian and all, but its kinda premature, remeber what happend with anaheim last year?? We were supposed to win last season, by setting up your high expections, you could be setting yourself up for great dissappointment, If we win thats great, if we dont, there more seasons ahead.

unfortunately my friend i think you may be wrong. ol' jerome can only carry your team so far. even though kipper is incredibly solid, calgary needs more goal scorers and sadly i don't think tanguay will be enough. if they can make it through the first round of playoffs, i will consider celebrating.
