Sounds like the Double Deckers, the Banana Splits was either part of the show or on straight after cos I always link the 2 together. The kids in the Double Deckers did have a hovercraft, 1 of the girls was either Gillian Taylforth or Pauline Quirk I can't remember which. It could even of been Pauline Quirk & Linda Robson! My memory is a bit vague, loved the programme though & wanted a hovercraft of my own

Could you be thinking of "Gentle Ben"? It was set in the Florida Everglades and the Little Boy's dad was a Park Ranger (hence the hovercraft). Every episode was bear related, which might be why it stuck in your mind.
