Italy... I hope your daughter has a wonderful time! Here are three fundraising ideas, I'm sure you will get a lot of ideas. Good luck!
1. A maid for a day
(Set fee, or donation, depending on the laws of the country you live in) This is where your daughter does domestic chores or gardening for people who hate doing them. It's interesting, I did this. My mother laughed at me, but I raised over a thousand euro. So many people hate washing up dishes, and ironing. I was asked to help strip wallpaper. Gardening duties as in cutting the grass.
2. A Pub Quiz, with prizes for a raffle.
The standard charge of a table in your country, plus extra for tickets for the raffle. the real money is to be made in the raffle.
3. A sponsored walk/cycle/run (Whatever your daughter is interested in)

I work at Wal-Mart and Sam's has a fundraising program that you might be interested in. If not, you could try selling home interiors, like my adopted mom does. You could also post an add in the local newspaper aksing if anyone could help you or give you information on fundraiser.... sorry I couldn't be more help.

Why not have a yard sale/bake sale, and advertise at the sale that all proceeds will go to your daughters Italy trip. Also you may want to look into a local business sponsoring the trip.

A car wash is always a good way to generate funds for a class trip.
And while they're there, they can say Hi! to all my relatives who I'll probably never get to see.
Ciao!
Carpe Diem !

Get t-shirts with the words "I SPONSORED A CHILD" and sell them to family, friends and their friends and extended families as well as your corner store owner, your local butchers and every one you have bought stuff from over the years. Even the cashier at the mini - mart or ice-cream counter who knows you or your child. Try the seniors pensioners, they love children.
