Zero is not a perfect square .

Definition :

A perfect square is a number that has a whole number as its square root. (I.e. X^2 is equal
to X times X)

Some examples of perfect squares are:

1, since 1 x 1 = 1
4, since 2 x 2 = 4
9, since 3 x 3 = 9
16, since 4 x 4 = 16
etc.

We cannot write 0, 0 X 0 = 0. So, Zero is not a perfect square.

I would say no because, while zero times zero equals zero, a perfect square is a number that can be divided evenly by two equal whole number factors. Zero's factors are zero and zero and anything divided by zero is undefined.

and sqrt(0)=0

so it is a perfect square jus like one. Only in this case there is no -0.

Depens upon your definition of a perfect square. There is no actual right or wrong answer for this. I define perfect square as;

Any number that can be written as a POSITIVE integer to the power of two.

So by this definition, it isn't.

Like I said, it all depens upon how you choose to define it.
