Be honest, if you had to go in the back room of KFC, and cut off the head of the chichen(s), you were going to eat, and had to disenbowel and cut off with a power tool the seperate parts yourself, would extra crispy cajun style still have the same appeal?
Be honest!

BTW, I'm not a bleeding heart pita person...and I like chicken occasionally. I ask myself this as much as you guys I wonder If I could, and if it would be as viable if I had to do the cutting the head off thing myself. Personally, I'd like to go to a farm and partake in the slaughter of a few
to see how I feel next time I sit in a KFC
or MCdonalds.
My problem is that people are so far removed from the slaughter that they forget that that tasty morsal had legs,
walked, breathed, and maybe even felt
a few things. You see the perfectly wrapped styrofoam package and forget
that that thing was walking around a month
ago or less. It would be nice to participate
just so I can say I'm not removed from the reality that that thang was walkin' and squawkin' just a bit ago.
Final question: Where do the poor cattle
come from that get turned into White
Castle hamburgers? If I was a cow I would be insulted be be turned into a "slider"!

I love KFC, especially the original stuff. Never get sick or gas from there. Ate at Popeyes twice and had stomach cramps and gas both times. Never again. BTW, I'm a white girl from the deep south and know my fried chicken.

Sure why not? People have been killing and eating their own catch for hundreds of thousands of years. That is why every parent should at the least take their kids fishing (boys and girls) let them catch, and gut the fish so they understand where the food comes from and the process involved. The problem with society today is we have removed ourselves from the process and have no respect, appreciation or idea of our connection to nature and where our food comes from.

Yep, Dude you know that chicken is good, At least were not eating cats, I would have a much harder time cutting a cat's head off. Chicken is food, along with pigs, cows, deer, duck, turkeys, admit it you like to eat that stuff too.

I do butcher my own chickens and I never eat at KFC because my chickens are SO much better! However, I don't have any power tools. Wonder if that makes a difference?

Of couse not, but then, if i had to kill the cow and process the meat, i would not buy the burger, or that lovely steak dinner. If i had to go fishing, gut the and scale the fish then cook it, well put it this way, if i had to prepare everything i needed, then I would be exhausted and would not be able to afford the them as i would not be able to work.

hi, interesting question.
my husband and i have chickens as pets, they're fun to have around.
it doesnt put me off eating chickens though.
i think the main thing to remember here is that in our western culture, we havent had to kill our food for a long, long time. if we had to kill to eat, we'd be hungry a lot, maybe even feel like, 'i'm starving'. i know if i was that hungry and especially my dependants were really hungry, i'd go out and kill something to feed us.
i think your question touches on cultural relevance.
good luck.

If you have to abuse kid, tell some kid in China to work all day every day would you still buy iPod? Nike? Gaps or whatever? If you have to tell a man, a woman he/she has no right to health plan would you shop around for low cost?
