African Americans were portrayed last night as lazy (needing to take a lot of breaks), mentally defficient (couldn't figure out simple puzzles), and chauvanistic (only men made the major decision of choosing who to send to exile island).

That is as horrible a portrayal as it gets. A number of negative stereotypes were reinforced. I know that most other ethnic groups were also dragged through the stereotype mud as well, but it seemed especially egregious with the African American group.

Did the editors manipulate the editing to accentuate the black stereotypes? Or was it a simple documentation of how the black group reacted in key situations?

I saw a bit on how 'real' reality tv was. They would take multiple takes of a certain scene to be able to dramatize it, they would tape the endings and tell the people to pretend to have won the show and lost the show, and this hasnt even gotten into the editing.

I would just take it for what it was, entertaining tv not reality tv.

SH*T, here we go already. I didn't see them as being lazy. I thought that there was 5 strong-headed people that if they didn't start to work together the team would fail. Personally, if i was to pick the team, i would pick the one with the black strong women.

Did you see the part in the boats when the dipsh*t older white guy was paddling backwards. Was that on purpose to let the Asian and Latino group win?? OR was it a couple of dumba** that didn't know how to row a boat.

Everyone applied to go on the show, anything is possible. You prepare for anything to happen. I couldn't really answer your question because I feel no pity for anyone who goes on these shows. You leave yourself wide open for just about anything. But thats just my opinion.
