I took a walgreens brand test, the 5 days sooner kind, on Wednesday...I looked after about 3 minutes and saw it was negative...I disgarded it and went to sleep, I woke up about 4 hours later and it was positive...now I dont know how long it took for that positive result to show up so now Im not completely sure if Im pregnant or not...ok I know that that test is like the LEAST sensitive you can buy @ 100mIU or whatever so...I figured it must be POSITIVE and my levels just werent high enough to be detected instantly. My one friend says naw, its the test thats faulty. Another says, A POSITIVE IS A POSITIVE. The thing is...it never went away on the test...well it stayed for as long as I keep it, which was about 10 hours or so after I noticed it. I read that a TRUE positive result lasts and a negative will disappear. I havent seen where a negative will TURN positive over time. I mean how else will people show their spouses the results hours later if they could MIRACULOUSLY change, right??

no well if the HCG hormones are in ur urine they are in ur urine no matter what ur probably pregnant but get another test to be sure. no matter how long u leave ur urine on the test for it probably won't make a difference because one way or another its found the pregnancy hormone in the urine ur prolly pregnant just not very far along so ur oviously don'thave as much in the urine so it took longer to detect but yeh i would suggest to grab another test and don't fall asleep lol

you might want to take another one and read the time limit on it. Sometimes you can take a test and it wont show up for the 10 minutes or whatever and you will put it away and then you will go back hours later and there will be a line there ... That could be an evaporation line. They show up when the test stick is starting to dry ... which can cause you to think that it is positive when it really isnt at all. So just buy another one and if it shows up right away then yup you are and if its still neg. Then just wait for your period. Good luck with everything!

I dont know that brand as Im in Australia but there is a brand here called crystal clear and this test does not have a false negative over time - I have taken this test several times and its negative even hours later its still negative but when I was pregnant but only in the early stages of pregnancy it showed as a negative but after a few hours it was positive - I tested each morning for a few days and each day the positive came up quicker - my suggestion as I dont know the brand you took is to try again in a day or so (your hcg count doubles every 2-3 days) and see if its still positive or go to your dr and get a blood test.

You obviouslly have only 2 real choices, if you really feel your pregnate then you should start doctors care immedetlly. Go to your Dr. and have them do a preg. test. They will know 100% if you really are or not. That would solve this whole issue.
Your second less evasive choice is to buy another test and see what that one says, obviouslly read the directions carefully about how long to wait.
Your other option is to call the company and ask them about your results, all companies have a 1800 number on the side for questions about their product, maybe all tests turn blue after a few hours no matter what from the chemicals inside and you really have nothing to worry about? I'd call the company, get a new test, and then make a doctors appointment, in that order...

If your test is negative in within the time limit the directins give you...IT'S NEGATIVE! They state in the directions that reading the results AFTER the stated time will give you false results. Most people will do a pregnancy test while the spouse is home if they want them to see the results. I have 3 kids, so I'm speaking from experience. If you truely think you are pregnant, go to your doctor and have them do a pregnancy test. This is the only you will get true and accurate results. Besides, once you call your doctor to tell them you did an "at home" pregnancy test, they will want to have you take another at their office, just to be sure.

you might be pregnant but from that test I would say that was an evaporation line which happens if the test is left to rest if it did not say positive after 10 minutes it was a negative test. you could still be pregnant it might just be to early to tell I tested neg for 1 and a half weeks after my period was due and got 4 negs and then after that time the positive came up it depends when you ovulate I must ovulate late in my cycle so the hpt doesn't work until my period is more than a week late. might be the same for you. test again and good luck.

If you read the instructions that come with the test carefully, it clearly states in there that the test is no longer valid after ten minutes... Or twenty minutes... At any rate, it's not valid after the first three minutes that you see it.
Just because it changed hours later means nothing.
If you're worried and concerned still, take another test. But if this one was negative and changed hours later... it's still a negative.

i took one at my doctors office that read negative. the nurse got busy and didn't throw away the test and when she went back later it read positive. i had a blood test done and was pregnant, but then i started to bleed and ended up miscarrying. so mine turned very slowly because i was getting ready to miscarry. you should definitely get a blood test done so they can watch you to see what is going on. i know this doesn't sound positive, but on a good note i did get pregnant again about 3 weeks later and now have a beautiful daughter. good luck.

You have to read it in the time allowed on the box. Usually after a couple minutes and up to 10 minutes. Make sure you go by what the box says. If you want your spouse to see it do it first pee in the morning and show him.
