I am soo confused on wht to do after high school. I know I'll be going to a 4-yr college. But I have no clue wht to major in & I don't wanna go in as "undecided" since that's a waste of time & money. & I don't plan on attending a community college either. I want an interesting career where one won't ever get bored...one that offers variety but doesn't require having to get above a master's degree. My parents want me to enter the medical field...I don't mind...but where's the fun in watching sick ppl everyday? Maybe a job that requires travelling once a month or so...But also let's u have enough time with ur family. Any jobs u can suggest wud be helpful? Maybe a bit info abt them too...like wht degree u need, their salary, the "funness" of it, etc.

Don't feel bad, most people end up switching majors in college. I think it is ridiculous that you should know what you want to do with the rest of your life when you are 18. I know I didn't.

I would suggest looking into nursing. It only takes four years and you are pretty much garaunteed a high paying job right after graduation since there is a shortage in nurses. You can be a travelling nurse. They will send you away for about 1-3 months at a time, BUT they will pay for everything. They will pay for your apartment, rental car, food and utilities. You can save all the money you make and after the job is over you can take off a month or so before having to go back. There are many different areas in nursing, too. If you like children you can work with the pediatric nurses. You should look into it. (I think you are a girl, but not sure). Nursing is a very popular choice for people in your situation. Its very good pay and very stable and there is a lot of oppurtunity to move up.

If I were you I would sign up for English, Math, History, Sociology, Health, or Physical Ed classes in the beginning. Get some testing done about what your interests are and a counselor can help you match your interests with what you should major in. Have you thought about being a Marine Biologist, an Oceanographer, an Anthropologist, an Artist, or something along the lines of outdoor work? Your college should offer testing and counseling to help match your interests up with a job that you would like.
