Just be there for her.
Then let her cry while you offer close support.
Don't get distressed. Offer love in the form of empathy.
Just tell her you love her, and to get it all out.

Tell her you understand she's upset and you're happy to listen to what's wrong, but you can't do that when she's crying. Don't be impatient with her. She needs to know you're there for her. Ask her to come over so you can talk in person, or invite yourself over to her place...then you can hug her, let her see you care, and she'll feel safe about opening up and telling you what's wrong.
Good luck!

I dunno.

I'd be baffled, I suppose.

Then hop on the bike so I can cannon through the traffic and be round there as soon as is humanly possible to see if she needs help, or something.

She sounds very immature & emotional unstable - maybe you should suggest she look into counseling. You are not a trained professional & it is not fair for her to treat you like that - she is not a princess & she should not expect you to be a knight in shining armour.
