We are all part of evolution

I guess it depends on what you believe. In the strict scientific sense, there is no "purpose" to evolution--it simply is. It's what happens when certain types of DNA are better able to get themselves into new bodies than others, and thus slowly start to outnumber the other kinds of DNA. There's no purpose or direction to that; there are endless ranges of possibilities that could be exploited in this way.

If you are one who believes that God directs evolution, then you could add purpose on top of the strict scientific definition. Like, perhaps God designed the "better" type of DNA, or brought about the environmental circumstances that caused it to be "better."

In other words, evolution does not *require* purpose to work--it still happens whether there is a purpose to it or not--but some people choose to believe that we are being directed some way or another. Does this constitute as being "used?" I don't know about that. I guess you'd have to ask God.

It's all in the way you look at it.

we are all part of evolution. although as species we have managed to remove ourselves from the constraints of natural selection to a considerable degree. is that good or bad? wrong question. just as the one you asked. there is no good or bad in evolution. only results, which... are. why? because there is no one judging them. jusr as there is no purpose in evolution. it is just a mechanism, that we describe as we understand it, and being human we tend to interpret something into it. a purpose... a kind of overseer... or even a goal... there is none of that.
evolution happens. all the time. everywhere... for no good reason at all.

oh, and protecting us from the selective pressure does NOT exclude us from evolution. although it gives us a shot at winning it.
or not. maybe it will rule us out. we will have to wait and see.

"Used" seems an odd word to employ here. The only "purpose" of evolution is survival of a given population.

But yes, evolution is part of the natural universe, ergo, we are involved.

Yes we are all evolving. Our children are more intelligent than us. They are also taller and stronger.
