The word in Spain for mailbox is BUZÓN

the phrase should then read:

"LA CASA DEL BUZÓN TORCIDO".

CAJA is simply the word for box

Buzón is mailbox.... but the word for MAIL itself is Correo
and a postoffice would be:
Oficina de Correos.

Mailboxes, even private ones often have the word CORREO stamped on the front...

Both preceding answers are wrong. I tried to find the word for 'mailbox' for WEEKS while living in Buenos Aires, because I couldn't find the mailbox for my apartment.

There was none, and I learned that there is no word for 'mailbox' in Spanish.

The translations you got give the word for 'box' which is a totally different concept.

Sorry.

Ask the man who mows your lawn.

No wait that won't work, he doesn't speak English.
