YES. Not keeping your face on a "clean routine" will not be good for your skin/face. It causes break outs, wrinkles, and make it blotchy. Your skin is breaking down with each day, so you need to properly remove the dead skin at the end of the day, and then in the morning (from any extra oils/dead skin etc you might have picked up while sleeping) If you wash your face in the morning and moisturize before make up application, it will help to keep your skin looking balanced and healthy! Always wash your face in the evening/night before bed. When removing eye makeup use a special eye makeup remover, this will gently remove the makeup. Your eye area is the area of your body with the most sensitive/thin skin, which wrinkles the easiest... then remove all other makeup with your cleanser, and moisturize... if you are 25 or older it is recomended to use eye cream ( I do already, and am 21) :) its never too early to start protecting from the signs of aging

I've just read 12 responses to your question. Some of them are very good but the most important thing to remember is that your skin absorbs the make up on your face as you sleep. This could leave you with darkness under your eyes, black heads, and pimples.
I used to go to sleep with make up on when I was young, but then I learned the error of my ways. Now, even though I am tired and ready for bed, I always, always, always remove my make up.
Do yourself a favor: go to any cosmetic counter in a department store and ask the saleslady for some skin care advice. You don't have to buy anything. Just find out what skin care routine you need in order to keep your skin healthy and young looking. You can buy the products at Walgreen's or Osco, or one of those places, and you can get along with the basics.
By the way, wrinkles come as a result of too much sun, smoking and use of drugs, and of course, aging. Your failure to wash your face is bad for your skin and will cause you to look older than you are.
Have you heard the adage, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"? It applies here. Good luck!

If you do that regularly, yes. Not cleaning the makeup does not allow the skin to "breathe" properly, and that makes it age faster (i.e., wrinkle at a younger age than it would otherwise).
There are other more immediate effects (recurrence of acne, for example, which is rather embarassing).

Emma, the thing that you have to remember is that what you are doing to your complexion today won't show up for about five years. I know that five years seems like a long time, but if you don't want to look into the mirror five years down the road and see something that looks like a road map, you need to take good care of your skin today.
Even though you don't see wrinkles now, they are definitely in your future if you are blessed enough to live a long life. You do not need to stay completely out of the sun, but you do need to limit exposure to about fifteen to twenty minutes a day. Your body needs the vitamin D, your face needs protection (a hat) while you are out. Remember that sun exposure adds up during the day. So, the five minutes on the way to class, the two minutes to get out to the care... all of it is exposure to the sun.
DO take the trouble to keep your skin healthy by keeping it clean. Afterward, use a light moisturizer to keep it protected and glowing. Whether or not you need make up is your decision. Always remember to not only wash your face at night before bed, but also wash it in the morning. Your skin works hard all night while you are sleeping to replenish all of the moisture it lost and replace the dead cells that appeared during your day. Washing in the morning, even though you didn't wear your make up to bed, helps to clean off the dead cells and other "trash" your skin pushed to its surface during the night.
Did you know that your skin is the largest organ of your body? It protects our delicate insides from all kinds of awful things 24/7. Babying this hard working protection God made for us is the smart thing to do!!
Hoping you still look 20 when you're 45....

No! Wrinkles come from a variety of things and make-up removal isn't one of em'. You should clean your make-up properly anyways to prevent clogged pored, blemishes and rash. If you really want to avoid wrinkles....MOISTURIZE! most people are lazy when it comes to it, but it helps, and makes it easier to get the make up out of your skin. Find a moisturizer that best suits your skins needs and stick to it, you may feel greasy for a couple days but your skin will eventually adapt.

You won't get wrinkles, but it can clog your pores, causing blotchy, pimple ridden skin, as well as black heads.
An easy way to clean makeup off is to keep a box of baby wipes on hand. Splurge on the nicer brand name ones, because they are softer and thicker.
I even get waterproof mascara off with them, and they leave my skin feeling refreshed and clean.

You get wrinkles coz you get old. Keeping your skin clean and moisturised is one way of helping to minimise the damage and maintaining a younger looking skin for longer. Drink loads of water too, to keep yourself and your skin hydrated.

If you don't clean your makeup properly for years, then yes. Just once in a while won't hurt

It won't make you get wrinkles if you don't clean your face. But if you put to much fake make-up on, then you will in the future.

No but drinking tea causes them...
My aunt is covered in wrinkles and told me she started drinking tea every day after high school... she then showed me an old picture of her in high school before she started the tea and she didn't have any wrinkles at all.......
