It is just a normal ( but very important) procedure to assess how well children are progressing and if they are progressing at a normal level. It provides everyone concern with details of how well a child is doing, and tells them what further help the child may need in a particular academic area. It's all about feedback really. It serves a very good purpose indeed. Also sometimes teachers come across children having hearing problems or a reading disability, this information can be passed on to the parents.

I guess it's maybe to just see what level the children are.
