Nope. Totally out of the question!

The "footprint" of the RAM sticks are totally different in a notebook/laptop computer.

It has to do with physical size of the circuit board the RAM chips are mounted on, the number of contacts, and the keyways on the RAM stick itself.

It's almost the same as trying to fit the proverbial "square peg into a round hole".

DON'T even attempt it. It will not be compatible Laptops and desktops and made fundamentally differently and the ram is not transferable. Even desktops are not able to transfer RAM back and forth between different systems because depending on the system there are upwards of 4-5 different types of desktop ram let alone adding laptop RAM to the mix. Also transferring RAM back and forth between computer's like you are suggesting will shorten the RAM chip's usable life span by as much as 50-75% depending on the various factors involved, and that's if the chip is even compatible. And even if it is what are you gonna do after the laptop get fixed?

Also not to rain on your parade but a RAM chip transfer of the type you are requesting requires the services of a professional computer shop. I hope this information is helpful.
