just to say the others are right. i have to send money to another county each month i have a paypal account in both countys and send it between them, but it you want to send more then what for the usa account is $500 a month then you have to upgrade to i higher account and that will charge you a % of what you send. if this is the case then paypal makes it easy but may not be the cheapest.

as you are in the uk if you do have to transfer more the a small amount each month and the person you are sending it to is a good friend or family you may want to talk to HSBC as if you open an account with them in the uk and the other person opens one in nz the transfer fee is alot less. but if this is somone you do not know then that will not work.

.......There are quite a few ways to do this. Paypal as everyone has suggested, Western Union who are found in a lot of Travel Agents. You could also have it transferred from your bank into theirs, this is probably the cheapest and easiest. All the others range from about 5% - 12%.. Hope this helps.

Paypal, it is the easiest and one of the most secure ways of sending money to someone. I use it for all my Yahoo Auction purchases. Paypal is free to send money.
