I have some really nice teaspoons as part of a set so I dont want to get rid of them but some have tea stains on them, does anyone know a good way to get them back to normal? I have my mother in law coming over tomorrow so I need a quick solution!

Diluted bleach is good and doesn't take long, half an hour should be long enough unless they are really bad ,this also works on cups try adding milk to the cups before pouring the tea unless someone doesn't take milk of course. After being in bleach make sure the spoons are washed in COLD water. Why not treat all your cups before your mother in law arrives, a good impression and all that I just hate unclean cups etc, Wine fly

Domestos. Fill a glass with water and drop in a couple of teaspoons D bleach. After 10 minutes they'll be like new. Dont worry about the outlaws... she gets stains on her spoons as well!!!

Put a little bleach into a mug, fill with hot water and put the teaspoons in for an hour or so, then wash as usual. The teaspoons should be shiney clean as will the mug.

I use distilled white vinegar on my stainless steel pots and pans. If your teaspoons are made of stainless steel then this should work. Just give them a soak, then wash as usual. Also Mr. Clean Magic Erasers work wonders, you could try this as well. Sometimes I use both if it's a really tough stain.

Hope this helps! Good Luck!!!

Soak in a basin filled with hot water and a few capfuls of household bleach, rinse well afterwards, works wonders on all grubby tarnished cutlery (though best not used on cutlery with plastic handles) and tea stained cups.

Do u have a dish washer ? or if not do u know someone who has, they get rid of the stains on anything! we had some mugs that were badly stained b4 we had a dishwasher, they had been like that for ages and had been manually washed hundreds of times, when we got our dishwasher we popped them in and they came out as good as new!!

Jif - or Cif or whatever it's called these days. Should take you about five seconds to polish them over and the stains will be gone! Have fun with the ma-in-law :0)

I soak mine in bleach overnight or I use vanish tablets dissolved in water and then soak the spoon overnight, vanish is also great for cleaning vases and tea stains out of cups.
