I took my ACT last year and I only got like an 11. 0 on it. Not because I'm really stupied but because I spent the night before worring about it and didnt get a minute of sleep. So the next day at the test i was even more stressed and tired!...So I really wanna go to college at the end of this year, but I'm worrried that i might not get in because of my ACT.....Should I retake it or just take my chances.

Retake it!!! My younger brother scored really well and that is what his college looked at. Don't stress, if you scored an11 tired imagine what you can get well rested. Good luck!!!

YOu shoulld take advantage of taking as many entry college exams as possible as many times as you can. The higher the score the more Universities you can apply to, and the possibliity of scholarship money is greater. The ACT is looked at by some colleges and not others. However, it is usually an easier exam thatn the SAT and most students perform better. Practice using an ACT book weeks ahead, for a few minutes at a time. Try some of the essays. The night before the test dont look at the book, get rest, even if you need to go and run before bedtime, eat breakfast, take a snack with you for the break. Food definitely helps your brain. Prior to the test just do a minute of stretching. Phsycial exericse gets your right brain and left brain working at the same time, which will help with all subject matter on the test. ALso take the SATs as many times as you can. If the test is too difficult take a PREP course.

If you have the cash and think you can do better than the 11, retake it. When I was in school, at least, the ACT only sent your best score to colleges.
So there's no chance you'll be harmed by it, and a good chance that bytaking the ACT and scoring better, you may qualify for more scholarships. This question, at least, is a no-brainer.

Retake. Or take the SAT. I would not advise you to apply for many colleges with an ACT score that low. Sure, you may have a high GPA, but retake it anyway. And now that you know what is in store, don't lose sleep over it.

Depends on who you are. I never took the ACT/SAT and went straight to community college and took a placement exam there. Sadly had to take some catch up classes but I maintained a 3.5 GPA over my two years at Community College and transferred to University of Illinois where I graduated in CBA Finance. I never took an ACT/ SAT and very happy about it too. If you want to start off at a 4 year though...it's very important.

P.S. I got around never taking a Geometry class too....which by the way you don't need for Calc ect. ect. (but it helps)

The ACT doesn't matter that much. The main thing it is used for is to determine who gets scholarships and in any category (math science reading etc) that you make BELOW 19 on, you will have to take remediation classes for in the first semester you go to college
