Would someone please explain to the Conservatives who complain about Clinton tapping into phones, why it is different when Bush did it? I'm getting kind of tired of trying to do so.
Why was it okay for Clinton and not okay for W?

Well, it looks like I have to do it again. The issue is not so much that Bush tapped the phone lines...it's that he did it illegaly. Clinton got a court order to do it and you never heard a complaint. Bush thought he was above the law and did it without the court's approval...that is when people got upset. If he would have went to the court either before he executed the order or retroactively, the uproar would not have been a tenth as extreme. It's sad that no one can understand this.
I have no problem with them tapping the phones. When it's done illegaly, I have to wonder if they are hiding something and tapping into lines they are not supposed to. Bush still cannot admit that he did wrong after the court said he did. Just go and get the order and this will be okay. The FISA court even said that if he asked for one now, they would more than likely approve it. But he's too stubborn to admit that he has to follow the law. That's why he cannot be trusted. Whew...I'm done.

Actually I think it was okay for both. I wished Clinton had tapped more phones and than we might not have had this mess. Of course if you were a criminal you'd be for Clinton because hey even if you did a crime you probably wouldn't be punished. And if you did all you had to do was wait until his last day in office and he would pardon you!

because Clinton was a demonrat and could do no wrong.
the democrats party's position on Bush is to slander , attack, lie and oppose everything he does and says.

If Bush says the sky is Blue a demonrat will hold a press conference to explain why the American people should not belive Bush
