I know, this question may have been better posted in the philosophy section but I wanted more of a political perspective. Feel free to cite examples such as the current criminal Bush administrations eerie similarities to the utilization of mass hysteria/crowd psychology as seen during the rise of Nazi Germany, thanks.

I just can't pull myself away from that handsome brilliant mans picture to think clear! Let's see now.Well, Bush won't answer a single question after he speaks and that is like Hitler. shut up, do as I say or your not American. Well, Bush needs to get his a$$ to the site of the world trade center and confess his crimes before he does what Hitler did, but then someone would have to write a script to tell him how to do it! The criminal mind is hard to figure out but then add stupidity to it and you have a psycho mind! We have nothing to fear but Bush himself. His motto along with the neo-minds is " Ask not what I can do for your country , but what can your country do for me"

A conformist would point out how much smoother the nation would operate if everyone did what they where suppose to .
1). Get a college education and a career.
2). Get a wife and 2.6 kids and a pet.
3). Attend church regularly and teach your kids religious values .
4). Never break the law .
5). Always do as you are told and do not disagree.
6). Save for a rainy day .
7). Never break the law.
8). Work hard at your job and never complain.
9). Use the courts to settle disagreements.
10). The boss is always right that's why he is the boss.
By being a none conformist you question if the laws are right .
You tend to go by your own rules .
You often disagree with authority when they are wrong in your mind .Then work to change the rules.
You enjoy change and growth and breaking the mold .
You live life rather then going through the motions .
You are willing to take risks .
You often change jobs to meet you likes and dislikes .
You are active in the community at the ground level .
You are not willing to accept mediocrity .
You are a free thinking individual with your own style and taste . On any given day you may go out to lunch and if a breeze comes up , buy a kite and spend the afternoon flying it in a park not returning to work .
Carefree and happy you accomplish twice as much as your fellow w conformist workers and are hated for it .
You often work for yourself and do not punch a time clock .
People think you need to quit settle down and grow up all the time .
Even if you are married with 2.6 kids and a pet have a nice home but are seen relaxing by the pool and playing golf in the middle of the week you are seen as a misfit and do not fit in with the conformists who are jealous and think you must be doing something wrong .
I have on several occasions told the boss I was leaving for the day and they would ask why .I always told the truth , the waves where 3-5 and i was headed to the beach or its a gorges day and I am headed out to play a round of golf .GUESS YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED . As an individual I enjoy team sports but also those that are just for me .
SO this I guess sums up my answer. Yes I can be part of a team but there is nothing like self accomplishment to make one realy feel great and that attitude is shared with those who live around you and makes life worth doing everyday . I have told the crew lets take the day off with pay you should enjoy life you only get one .
I may not drive a 100,000 dollar car but the fun I have had spending the 80,000 having a good time and driving a 20,000 car makes it all worth it to me and the social and status climbing conformists can have it there way cause I live in a world I created and did not join there's .

Actually, as a foreigner observing the American political scene from a distance, I have yet to actually SEE anything even resembling a "free-thinking LIBERAL." The extreme atheist left of American politics seems the most prone to invoke the social fascism of "political correctness" which would be most "eeriely similar to the utilization of mass hysteria/crowd psychology as seen during the rise of Nazi Germany."

Sorry pal, I was a history major, I just call 'em as I see 'em.......

I bear in mind lower back for the period of the Reagan era whilst the NeoCons have been in finished administration and giggling on the Democrats. final project they ever predicted became 8 years of Clinton. get excitement from this Democrat run time because of the fact it won't final, notably quickly Republicans would be working the practice lower back. having reported that, i think of the neo-con era of the GOP is approximately over and the social gathering is going to tilt extra socially left in an attempt to "open" their fanbase. IE...Dick Cheney brazenly supported same-intercourse marriage Friday, some thing Obama does not even do (Obama in straightforward terms helps civil unions). think of that, Cheney being extra left on a social project than Obama. no longer common to have confidence huh ? individually, i'm ill of the two liberals and conservatives yacking at one yet another. i might rather have extra people interior the midsection who'll incredibly paintings at the same time, no longer in straightforward terms spite one yet another 24/7.

This is not a question for the philosophy section, because it is not an open question. You answered it already.
My answer is that I would not want to be a conformist, although I conform myself to others from time to time.
I like to think of myself as free thinking. But Liberalism has some inhuman aspects which my free thinking spirit would reject. Help the weaker people in society e.g.

I assume you describe yourself as a "free-thinking liberal" and yet your question is so biased you probably will receive either answers that whole-heartedly agree with you or veametly defend their decisions. Either way you will not recieve what you are looking for and have proved that Liberal perspectives follow "utilization of mass hysteria/crowd psychology" as much as your beloved Bush administration.

So, are you saying that conservatives can't think for themselves? Well, this one can. I've already been there and done that on the liberal side, and quite frankly, I just didn't like the people I was associating with. Having grown up and developed my own opinions, I am much happier the way I am now because it just feels right. But, the wonderful thing is, we can do that. You can be you and I can be me.

your question seems to be swayed one way , that isn't the mindframe of a free thinker , a free thinker would have gave me the options in an equal manner and let me decide , luckily i am not an idiot and know liberals are completely worthless

Comparisons with Nazi Germany are increasingly appropriate.

The qualities that mark America as unique - decency, compassion, common sense, and a ferocity of spirit - are being bled from us by our own government. I desperately hope that this country doesn't simply bleed to death...

As for me personally...

..."Live Liberal or Die".
