It's about a girl who in the days prior to her wedding is in her parents attic and accidently trips and falls through a full length mirror belonging to her grandmother. She is transported back in time and lives her grandmother's life all the while struggling to adapt in order to survive in the past and unable to get back to the present and her own life.
If anybody knows this title I would love to hear from you! I read this book about 25 years ago, but lost my copy when my home burned and the title has haunted me ever since. Thanks!

i think you are describing a book called Somewhere in Time. I was made into a movie staring Christopher Reeves. The movie was made in the beginning of his career. I hope this is what you are looking for.
