One presumes the definition of things before the thing to be defined exists. In reality, each thing evolved. If one defines an egg to be that from which life springs, then the it must have come first. Why? Because whatever it was, from which the Universe spring, is also that which we call an "egg." But if one redefines an "Egg" as that from which a Chicken springs (and which a human buys from a grocery store) then I think the Universe came first.
But if a tree falling in the forest where nobody can hear it has no sound (because a sound is defined as a vibration that strikes the eardum - take away the eardrum and that which is defined as sound no longer arises) then neither the Universe nor Egg existed until humans existed and started eating eggs. So in this liberalized definition of things, they all came into existence concurrently with the introductions of humans and grocery stores.
Something like that...

It would have to be the universe then the egg, but I have no clue where the egg came from. If it came from an amimal or if the egg came 1st. That is the big question. How did the 1st living thing get started.

in case you fairly imagine about it the egg must have come first because hens are not the in basic terms issues that lay eggs there might want to were a fish or chook or reptile that layed an egg before the fowl got here about in reality, the dinosaurs layed eggs did not they and there have been no hens round then
