Ok, unless your speakers are active, ie they have a built in amplifier. Do the speakers have a power lead/socket ? If not then you'll need an amplifier, make sure the any amp you get has the same impedence output as the speakers, ie 16ohm, 8ohm or 4ohm. Also make sure the amp is capable of driving the speakers, as you've got 250 watt speakers you'll need an amp that can deliver 250 watts RMS.
Hope this helps

It won't work. Computer speakers are designed specifically to shield from magnetic interference from the computer. Plus the ohms from stereo speakers is different, never mind the wiring necessary -- takes a mini jack, which bare wired speakers don't provide.
Newer digital stereo speakers can be connected with a SPIF coax on sound cards that provide it (like the Creative Labs series).

You connect your speakers to your PC by one speaker on the right side of the computer and the other speaker on the left side. Then, you plug in one AC adapter to one of the speakers, the other end of the AC adapter to the computer, and plug in the AC adapter plug in the socket.
No amplifier is necessary.

If the speakers do not have their own power supply (and if they are old stereo speakers, they won't) then you will have to have an amplifier.
