I went from friend to lover in a blinding flash, with you my love.
I met you, we traded Q&A comments, chatted in mails, and as soon as we came to like one another as friends, we almost immediately were vaulted into a wonderful rhapsody, and we fell deeply in love. Deep in love we are, and forever will be.

I've done the whole circle.
Aquaintance - Friend - Best Friend - Lover - Fiance - Ex - Outcast - Stranger - Aquaintance - Friend - Best Friend.
Obviously that's where I stop as I'm now married (and so is she) but in terms of general advice, all the very best relationships start with the couple as friends first. The other way around (starting with physical desire) generally leads to short relationships, whereas going from friend to lover generally means a longer and deeper relationship.
The only concern is that if it all falls apart you will loose the friend - but generally only temporarily (as shown above).

Absolutely. We were friends for 8 years, then lovers, then back to friends, then to lovers again and now we've been back to friends for over 10 years.

Yes, My husband was one of my best friends we worked together. We both feel in love but didn't say anything for a long time because we didn't want to ruin the friendship. We finally kissed after a movie, I think it helped we had both had a little too much Saki. But its been beautiful ever since. We have been married 9 years now.

Yes...in my current situation! We were strictly roommates for a while. I moved out, got my own place. We were just hanging out...like friends do with a bunch of friends. My friends kept telling me to "go for it"...chicken splat that I am...I did not. But my other half did! We've been together for 21/2 years now. It was great...is great. We really knew each other pretty well...it just all worked out...which is kewl!!!

Yes I did take the route friend-lover-enemy once. I will never do that again.

I started as friends with my girlfriend.
It was a good foundation.
We are very much in love and are still good friends on top of that.
I strongly advise friendship before love
best of luck

yes but sometimes it can throw up complications especially if you go back to being just friends, the hardest part for me was seeing her with another man. The jealousy almost ruined the friendship.
the problem of moving back to being friends is one of security. you ask yourself what you did wrong, and don´t like the answers you give yourself !!!!
