Any effort to outsmart others in a competitive spirit has to end only in stupidity.
Very unfortunately, for commercial reasons, and deft handling of material aspect of life, this cutting-edge-competition is very much needed. The stupidity part comes only when a person uses it to also handle his inner being with the same logical smartness. The proof of this is lack lustre relationships ending in divorces too often during this recent times !!

First, you need a base line to define "stupid"
Once established, we can analyze what is stup[id behavior.
Some people do stupid things out of ignorance, some out of choice, some out of sheer anger and frustration.
Some believe that what they are doing is not stupid. More think that even though it is stupid, they can make it work so it comes out right
We all do stupid things.

The simple answer is, people are lazy,but not ALL.Some people just do not exert common sense.Some people just do not want to learn or think.A mind is a terrible thing to waste.Some people think that posing stupid is,"funny".
