Smokey... don't listen to these people.. they have no idea about the difference in Business Telesales & home telesales which are your annoying double glazing specialists.

I'm not in telesales but know of people who are, some of whom are professionals and earn 30-50k a year which is more than most of these pansy's on here.

Getting passed the gate keeper is fairly easy, just say you want ti find out who deals with ................. as you want to send that person some info. After they give you the name, keep it for next time you call, now you can call that person by name and stand a better chance of getting through.

Here is the think no matter how many ways NO is said telesales people don't seem to understand. So telling people like you it's easier saying that I am a gatekeeper.
Much easier then telling you Hey i have been unemployed for over a year I can't afford that right now. and you still keep on hassling.
Just be greatful you didn't wake my toddler up from his nap trying to tell sell me something or you would get a huge rash from me

Hi

You need to use a different approach, if you know the persons first name use that rather than their title, the secretary may then think you know him/her.

It's a war of wills as it is the gatekeeper jobs to keep telesales calls out and it's your job to get in !

I don't recommend lying but you need to stretch the truth in some way to make the call sound important..

If they wanted to buy something wouldn't they phone you? I run my own business and all I get all day everyday from the same companies is people trying to save me money on my phonebill.

They say they are a sub company of BT but it is a load of rubbish. One company in ireland wrote to bt on my behalf and cancelled my line. They said I had entered into a verbal contract over the phone that was for 48 months.

They are the scum of the earth, seriously what do you tell your friends you do for a job, are you embarrased. I would be.

Seriously there must be other jobs out there for you.

When people ring my home number and ask for the bill payer I say I don't live here I am robbing the place! Funny not once have one of these people called the police though. If they wanted to save you money why wouldn't they call the police?

They dont get commission thats why. We hate you.

I really don't know what's the matter with some of you people - there's a dead easy way of getting rid of these people - actually there's two now I come to think of it, so:
No.1: Use the two words, one of which is NOT "off".........and
N.2: If they're stupid enough not to have withheld their phone number, make a note of it and phone them up in the middle of the night when you get up for a pee, and ask them if they want to buy a battleship.
....and don't give me all the old rollox about "they're only doing their job" - they're nothing but a bleeding nuisance.

AHHHH I did telemarketing for awhile, when I was going trough college. I hated it, I always gave up to easy, I am not a pushy person and after about 3 moths I quit. I would recommend sticken to the script and sound relaxed, dont sound like you are reading. I know it is hard, just keep your head up or do like me quit!! ha ha ha

If I knew the answer, I would call you at home when you're eating and sell it to you.
