Like it or not, the Pope is a world leader. I'm not asking if you agree with him, just if you think, given the current political climate if you think his words were chosen wisely, or not.

No he is not an imbecile at all. He is a very brave and couragous man willing to take on the exhaulted Muslims, just as President Bush has done.
Muslims don’t want you to see the irony in Muslims being able to desecrate a Christian Temple in Jerusalem by spreading feces on images of Christ? But a Christian leader (the Pope) can’t remind people of what 14th century Byzantine emperor Manuel Paleolous II said about the profit Mohammad several hundred years ago. It wasn’t even the Popes own words or thought. He was repeating what Paleolous II supposedly said. . What’s with the hypersensitivity anyway?
The Muslims can dance in the streets; shout and yell; raise their fists all they want to but I do not believe the Pope owes Muslims an apology for anything.
Some have contended the terrorists are a form of radical Islam and a small minority of the faith. They say the large majority of Muslims are a peaceful people. I am beginning to wonder about these claims when I see the reported millions in the streets protesting what the Pope repeated.
Two faced or what? Is Islam a peaceful religion or a violence based religion? By what I am seeing and hearing, I would have to conclude the latter.
The Muslims are caught in another 'truth hurts' scenario about their faith and react just as people did hundreds of years ago. With violent ignorance. Whose property are they tearing up anyway? Their own! Go for it!

The Pope is not an imbecile. Your question is offencive and "imbecile".
I am no catholic, neither christian, but I have to see the Pope has a very intelligent, educated person. But that doesn't mean that I agree with him.
What he said is or is not true?
What he said, even true, shouldn't be said by a man with so much responsibility as the Pope.

Actually his "quote" was taken out of context. He was actually attempting to use it to speak out AGAINST religious intolerance. The very fact that it backfired in his face so badly, answers your question perfectly.......
Yes, "Ratso" Ratzinger, Benedict the XVI IS an IMBECILE!
(Never forget that one of the Benedicts had about 20 illegitimate children, another actually SOLD the papacy to someone else, only days after being elected, and still another Benedict was so insane and corrupt that he was actually murdered by his own cardinals! Maybe he just picked the name because it sounded "cute!")
A prayer for Roman Catholics: "Oh All-powerful and Almighty Lord, Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, please accept your humble servant, Benedict the XVI, to live with You in Paradice for all Eternity........ and PLEASE, do this AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!"

The man still has the right to his opinion, just because he is head of the catholic church,he can say what he likes,as do most politicians, and they send people to war,and I say that as a Protestant.

Imbeciles don't get to the top of an organisation like the Catholic church. He may have many flaws - or just a few but an imbecile - no.
