What are your expectations?
Scott Adams explains this very well in his book "The Dilbert Principle". People have not really changed in the last few thousand years, we prefer swinging in trees and throwing things around to being civil (watch any professional sport nowadays). Yet here we are, expected to dress up professionally, sit in front of a computer and say smart things. It's just plain too much to ask of us naked apes!
So your expectations may be too high. It's also hard to see things from other people's perspectives, so what seems dumb to you may make sense in some odd way to the in duh vidual (not misspelled).
