i really hate the fact that it's so shaky- i've only been once in the tube and i could barely stand on my feet...

The smell, the strikes, the delays, the fact you can never get a seat and it's crammed and your BOUND to get someone with smelly pits in your face with their arm up holding the bar at the top...It was soooo bad during the summer! Or people standing on your feet, or a drunk or mad person ranting and raving about life or little people in their head when you've had a long day and you just want to sit there quietly. When I was younger I used to wonder why people looked so sad or angry when they were on the train...I know better now...I'm probably one of them! Yesterday I had to wait for 3 trains only to have some woman staring at me wildly (obviously peeved that she wasn't in the comfort of her own home like she would have been on other days...the poor woman looked angry enough to BITE someone!) and then I had the same problem with my buses. It's just there are too many people travelling and at rush hour it isn't very pleasant. I mean there are days that it's fine and I love travelling I think trains and buses are great, I like to see where it can take me some times. It's great when it's not busy, in some way I find it quite theraputic, but I guess I like travelling ( most of the time anyway)

I mean we complain but without it...we'd be lost and late! It can be quicker than cars sometimes a 45 min journey got crammed into 20mins for me, depends where you start and where you want to go really. I think it's just we know money from Taxes and everything are going on stupid little statues that are worth thousands ( well I've seen a few anyway...but they're meaningless!) when money could be spent improving transport or pay for better teachers and equipment in schools...I was going to say the NHS but they obviously have enough money to be giving people like Nikki off BB boob jobs. I think if people were seeing results and improvements it'd be fine, there was a time it was getting better but it went back downhill.

Well that's my opinion on it anyway! Wow that's a long rant. Sorry! Lol.

Anyway have you heard the song about it? There is some profanity BUT I think it sums up the London underground quite well. if you type in 'london underground song' on yahoo it should come up it's on loads of sites if you don't open links.

In commuter rush hour, I think it's mainly because of the overcrowding and delays, made worse by the idiots who stand at the top/bottom of escalators, get trapped in between doors when rushing for a train, insist on rolling wheelie bagage in the station, carry rucksacks on their backs when on the train, and pulling emergency handles when they realise the train is just leaving their station.
(Unfortunately the only thing London Underground do anything about is the delays but then the punters complain about station and line closures for repairs and upgrades.)
The tfl website (http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/) has a ticker on its website providing a status of underground lines. It also has info on planned closures for the next 6 moths.

Having to stand in a confined area with some of the ugliest people to have ever been spawned and have a very strong fragrance of B.O. And whilst all the pushing and shoving is going on trying to slowly creep closer to the seats so that you can swoop at any moment you are constantly lookin around for a suspicious character who u think may attempt to blow u up!

London Underground has quite a good website and they frequently publish lists of what people love and hate about the tube.

One thing figured on both lists - people leaving their papers behind, and people NOT leaving their papers behind for others to read!!!

The expense, for starters. I only come down 2 or 3 times a year so there is no point in getting an Oyster card. Plus, the heat on the coaches and they are always crowded with sweaty blokes in ties reading.

The bus system is unfathomable!

The fact that many people go down, catch a train to the next station along, then leave the underground..

There are some instances where it's quicker to walk than it is to catch the tube.

Trust-me, London Underground is just Valhala (still bellow Paris §underground system).

It really bothers me that if a buy a banana from a vendor and eat it on the way to the tube, I have to keep it with me the entire trip and only when I come above ground can I find a rubbish bin. I hate to litter, (besides, I don't want the fine if I get caught) so I have to keep it with me the whole time!

I hate the commuters. They are so rude and inconsiderate.

I walk to work so am not one of these horrible commuters but occassionally find that I have to catch a peak hour tube (eg to the airport with big bags). In these situations, the commuters treat you like you are diseased and that you're so below them because you're not one of them.

And the people who don't have the sense to let people off before they try to push themselves on.

They are putting antenae on trains so mobiles can be used underground, and not sorting out the air conditioning quickly enough
