1981 Pat Patterson vs Sgt Slaughter in NYC. Slaughter's white ring gear turned bright red along with the whole mat. His forehead was GUSHING blood for more than 15 minutes.
Eddie Guerrero also hit a vein sometime in 2004 against JBL.
WWE would like everyone to forget everything from before 2004 but things DID happen before then.

HHH vs Shawn Micheals in that PPV, don't remember the name in a last man standing match. HHH had to be carried off in a stretcher but SM refused to and he just walked off. That was the bloodiest match I'd ever seen. There was no result, in the end, neither men could get up.

Many years ago some of the barbed wire matches were extremely bloody. I also agree with the Ron Bass/Beefcake match.
