Of course, many people have probably said significant others. I'm going to say the same thing. I've been single for 3 years now, and I'm starting to think that there's no way I'm ever going to find someone. Everytime I go somewhere that has me intrigued or in awe, I always wish there was someone for me to share it with. Now when I go out with my friends and they bring their girlfriends/boyfriends, I just feel like the 5th wheel and I just don't go. It's sad for me to resort to this kind of isolation, but I don't want to feel uncomfortable, and I don't want to make my friends uncomfortable when I constantly hover. So I'm just better off alone, no matter how upsetting it may be...

As an atheist, I thought that by living my life only for pleasure, I would be happy. However, this free will that was supposed to make me happy has left me somehow empty inside.

I just feel so hollow - what should I do?

Nothing, nada, gar nichts!
Happiness is a choice.
You can be flat broke, ugly, friendless, and sick, and still be happy if you want to be.
Or you can be rich, good-looking, surrounded by friends, and healthy, and still be miserable if you wish. (But your friends won't stick around very long.)
